Bade Miyan Chote Miyan vs Maidaan advance box office: Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s actioner sprints ahead, sells close to 50,000 tickets

The pace at the box office has finally picked up, with the Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-starrer “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” and the Ajay Devgn-led sports biopic “Maidaan” gearing up for an Eid face-off. After the confusion over their release dates was cleared on Tuesday, both “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” and “Maidaan” finally received proper showcasing on ticket booking platforms.

This led to a surge in booking numbers for their opening day on April 11. “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” has sold 42,252 tickets, amounting to Rs 1.05 crore, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. Of these, 13,000 tickets were sold in national chains by Tuesday night. The film is released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada across 3D and IMAX formats.

In contrast, “Maidaan” will have a Hindi release only, in both 2D and IMAX versions. The Amit Sharma directorial has sold 16,178 tickets across India, with 9,000 sold in national chains. These figures include tickets for paid previews on the evening of April 10, followed by a full-fledged release on April 11.

Despite the increase in ticket bookings for April 11 for both films, the numbers are still considered low for the Eid holiday period. Pinkvilla reported that both “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” and “Maidaan” are expected to have modest openings at the box office. “Maidaan” is projected to earn around Rs 7 crore on Eid, while the big-scale action film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” is estimated to make Rs 15 crore.

Following their releases, the two films are expected to have a relatively open run at the box office, as there are no major releases scheduled for the entire month. While Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are coming off a series of under-performing films, Ajay Devgn was recently seen in the surprise hit horror film “Shaitaan.”
