It was the bralette paired with a mermaid skirt. From Kiara Advani to Ananya Panday, many celebrity showstoppers who walked the ramp for couturiers were seen sporting the trend.
Designers resurrected the trend of Mermaid skirts with thigh slits and trendy bralettes at the India Couture Week. by giving them a modern touch through style. This fashion trend dominated the runway like never before, whether it was Rimzim Dadu’s metallic ramp apparel for Ananya Panday or Kiara Advani’s “Barbie-core” ensemble by Falguni Shane Peacock.

Kiara Advani
Kiara Advani walked the runway at India Couture Week, giving fans a taste of Desi Barbie for Falguni Shane Peacock’s most recent collection Renaissance Reverie. This summer’s trend is Barbiecore, and Kiara’s ensemble is ideal for bridesmaids attending their best friend’s wedding.
It has a sleeveless bralette and a high-rise mermaid skirt combination that is embellished with dexterous beadwork, crystal tassels, and sequinned embroidery. Kiara’s provocative front thigh-baring slit and long train gave her a chic yet classic appearance.

Ananya Panday
Ananya Panday at India Couture Week, made a shining entrance in a piece from the Hydrochromic collection by designer Rimzim Dadu. Ananya’s ensemble has a structured bralette with halter noodle straps, a fitted bust, a plunging neckline embellished with a golden leaf structure, and a backless construction.
It is ideal for a reception party or cocktail night. She paired it with a matching golden skirt that had an asymmetric thigh-high slit and identical structures.
Disha Patani
Disha Patani walked for Dolly J wearing a silver outfit covered in delectable sequins, cut-outs, and ornamentation. The skirt had a daring front thigh slit and a train on the back, while the bralette had a plunging sweetheart neckline.
Bhumi Pednekar
For the couture collection Inner Bloom by designer Varun Bahl, Bhumi Pednekar transformed into the golden girl. She wore a bralette with a plunging neckline, floral-shaped cups, noodle straps, sequin accents, and beading.
She paired it with a matching, elaborately embroidered skirt that had a lengthy train and a thigh-high slit. Bhumi’s daring glam upped the glistening ensemble a notch.
