How to get healthy skin during Summer?

The skin starts to scream for protection as the scorching heat of the sun rolls down the skin. Those pesky rashes and sunburns exhibit stubborn tan and acne. Thus, it is very essential to take care of your skin during summer.

The increase in temperature results in an increase in humidity. As the weather becomes warmer, the sebaceous glands start producing excess natural oil in the body. This secreted oil sticks to the skin and thus, leads to stickiness, grease, and blocked pores.

When harmful UV rays hit the skin, melanin is produced to protect your skin from damage. And, as a result, tanning occurs.

How to take care of your skin during Summer?

Face Wash

A face wash of your skin type helps to cleanse deeply and remove dirt from your skin. The oily skin becomes more oily during summers and face wash works quite well for them in the weather. People with dry skin must go for a non-foaming cleanser. You should always go for mild, alcohol-free, and pH-balanced cleansers.

A Good Skin Care Routine

You should always maintain a skin care regimen and stick to it religiously. You should opt for gel-based moisturizers for dry skin and water-based for oily skin. Unlike creams, gels are lighter and non-greasy.

Proper cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your skin twice a day keeps it glowy and healthy.

Antioxidants

Antioxidant serums are the best way to hydrate your skin during summer. They also protect the skin from environmental damage, help in boosting collagen, and scavenge free radicals to prevent damage to your skin.

Antioxidants can also be taken to diet like citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables, green tea, etc.

Exfoliation

A face scrub helps you to remove the excess dirt and oil from the skin. You must use a face scrub that suits your skin and massage it gently in a circular motion. It can also be used to exfoliate the lips and neck.

Drink more water and juice

Your body should intake a maximum of 2-3 liters a day in summer. Coconut water, watermelons, and fresh juices are good ways to stay hydrated.

Drinking water also helps to flush the toxins from the body.

Apply Sunscreen

The sun’s UV-A and UV-B rays can be very harsh. The sun’s rays give you tan and cause premature aging, age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. Sunscreen avoids all of them and gives you healthy skin.
