Models call out show organizer for Vanshika Chopra’s death on-ramp

A recent incident of a young female model’s demise during a fashion show in Noida’s Laxmi Studio has brought forth the delinquency of its organizer. Vanshika Chopra, a 24-year-old newbie model, was doing her trials when the lighting truss tumbled and fell on her. Chopra died on the spot, while another male model Bobby Raj, who was also a part of the rehearsal received deplorable wounds.

Now the modeling fraternity has called out the organizers for their sheer negligence and is striving for justice.

Supermodel Nayanika Chatterjee took to her social media and wrote, “RIP Vanshika Chopra Fashion industry very strongly condemns the death of Vanshika Chopra. She also instructed young and aspiring imitations not to fall prey to these types of small-time fashion shows who take undue advantage of toiling models by showing them the fake side of modeling and making them believe that they have become models by walking for such unknown and unorganized shows. She added, “If you are an aspiring model please do not fall prey to the greedy agents who claim to be fashion industry insiders and show false hopes to young models only to fill their coffers.”

“There are shows where we see electric wires have been thrown around backstage and this raises serious concern around the safety of the models and people working backstage.”

“I once escaped a mishap on the ramp during my rehearsals while some workers were doing the setup and something fell from the top,” said Sonalika sharing a small incident from her own experience.

Model Vanshika’s death has left the fashion industry shaken and has put forward serious concerns about the safety of models and others who are a part of such small-time shows where they can’t even hire professionals to set up the lights and ramps..
