Cyclone Biparjoy; Action plan in place to tackle medical and health emergencies, says Union health minister.

According to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday, shelter homes are being built up with provisions for rations and meals as Cyclone “Biparjoy” races towards Kutch district in Gujarat. An action plan is also being put in place to address medical and health issues. He said that all workers at ports in coastal areas had been relocated to safer locations, and that ships had been moored. In order to assist and work with the state administration in rescue and evacuation operations, Mandaviya, who is at Bhuj in the coastal Kutch area, and four other Union ministers from Gujarat travelled to several regions that are anticipated to be affected by the cyclone.

In order to deal with the cyclone, which is forecast to make landfall on Thursday evening near Jakhau port in the Kutch district and pack deadly potential and extremely powerful winds, he added greater communication between various states and authorities is essential.

Provisions being made for Cyclone Biparjoy victims:

“The government has established shelter homes with rations, meals, and amenities for expecting mothers and kids. For medical and health situations, an action plan was put in place yesterday (Monday),” Mandaviya informed reporters.

He claimed that effective disaster management depends on cooperation among many agencies. A few people had been killed during cyclones on the east and west coasts, Mandaviya recalled. I have faith that together, we can overcome this catastrophe and save lives, he continued.

He claimed that in light of the storm striking Kutch, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had properly developed disaster management strategies. Along with other Union ministers, “I am here to help the state administration,” he continued.

He stated that to assist the state administration in making plans to deal with the cyclone, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala is at Devbhumi Dwarka, Darshana Jardosh is at Porbandar, Devusinh Chauhan is at Jamnagar, and Mahendra Munjpara is at Gir Somnath. He claimed that BJP members were dispersed throughout the affected areas and would make an appeal to the populace to comply with administrative directives.

The Met department predicts that cyclone “Biparjoy” will pass close to Jakhau Port on June 15 as a “very severe cyclonic storm” with a maximum sustained wind speed of 125–135 kmph and gusts up to 150 kmph. The districts of Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Jamnagar are likely to be the most affected.
