Andhra Pradesh: 13 Killed, 50 Injured As 2 Trains Collide.

The primary source indicates that there was a passenger train accident between Visakhapatnam and Rayagada, Andhra Pradesh. A short while ago, at the Vizianagaram district’s Kantakapalli railway station, three compartments derailed and two more bogies sustained damage. The passenger train speeding towards Visakhapatnam – Rayagada collides with the Visakhapatnam – Palasa passenger from behind, according to the source. Both trains are permitted to operate simultaneously on the same line due to a signal failure.

After being notified, the local police and railway rescue personnel rushed to the scene. Rescue efforts have not yet begun, and accurate information of casualties and injured parties is lacking due to the railway station’s power outage.

Three coaches were involved in a rear accident between the 08504 Visakhapatnam-Ragada and 08532 Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger trains, resulting in about ten injuries. Rescue efforts are underway now that DRM Shri Saurabh Prasad has arrived at the scene. Ambulances and accident relief trains arrived, and the local government and NDRF were notified.
