Donald Trump turned himself in on Tuesday for a historic court hearing in New York. It was held amidst high security and a media frenzy around the world. The Republican tycoon is the first American president to ever be charged with a crime.
The hearing, is being broadcast live on television and features rival protesters rallying outside. It is a turning point for the US criminal justice and political systems and has the potential to completely alter the 2024 presidential election. In the same, Trump is currently the presumptive Republican candidate.
Although cameras won’t be permitted during the hearing itself, US networks broadcast live coverage of Trump’s motorcade. As it made the short drive to court with police lining the streets and helicopters buzzing overhead.
Donald Trump charged for 34 felonies:
The hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels was the focus of the 34-count indictment. No allegations of illegal conspiracy were made. No new crimes discovered by the grand jury stayed undiscovered until the indictment was covered up. There was no strong argument.
When Mr. Trump woke on Tuesday in Manhattan, the cards were already on the table. Even though some of the evidence, which prosecutors claim shows a pattern of electoral interference, was novel, the case is what we anticipated it to be.
Trump denies all the charges:
Before his arraignment, a sizable crowd had assembled in front of the courtroom. Press inquiries on the subject at the White House did not receive a response from President Joe Biden.
Trump’s legal team previously stated that the Republican leader, who is eyeing a second term in the White House in 2024, will enter a not guilty plea to the criminal charges he is up against in association with hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Trump will now take a flight return to Florida, where he will therefore make a speech at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach that evening. In relation to the payments made to Stormy Daniels, 44, before the 2016 presidential election, Trump has refuted all wrongdoing.
