According to Dadra and Nagar Haveli police, a nine-year-old child was abducted. His head was severed as part of a “human sacrifice” ceremony to obtain money, and then had his body torn to pieces. The police also stated that 100 people were involved in piecing the crime together.
Last week, after the decapitated body was discovered abandoned beside a canal at Vapi in the Valsad district of neighbouring Gujarat. police arrested a teenage boy and detained two men.
On December 29, the nine-year-old child vanished from Sayli village in the Dadra region of the Union Territory. Thus, prompting the police to file a kidnapping report at the Silvassa police station on December 30.
The Investigation:
While numerous teams were organized to locate the youngster, a decapitated body that matched his description was discovered at Vapi. Which is about 30 kilometers from Silvassa, the DNH district’s administrative center, according to police.
While the victim’s entire remains are found in a Vapi canal, portions of the body believed to belong to the victim were recovered in Sayli village. Which is the location of the ritual, an official reported. It states that the body pieces had is sent for forensic analysis. However, a murder case is reported.
Police claimed that questioning the juvenile detainee made it easier for them to find the weapons used in the crime. According to authorities, the detained teenager said that his friend Shailesh Kohkera (28) also supported him in killing the victim.
Kohkera and Sanvar were then located and detained on January 3. The young person, according to the police, was a butcher in a chicken shop in Sayli village. He is a native of the Gujarat village of Karjan in the Tapi district’s Kaprada taluka. Further research is underway, and he has been transported to the observation home in Surat.
Human Sacrifice cases in India:
Data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) show that 103 ritual sacrifices in total have been reported between 2014 and 2021. The year 2015 saw the most of these incidents, with 24. The year 2018 saw the fewest, with only 4. 6 instances of human sacrifice were documented in 2021, according to government records, according to DH.
