Karnataka: 10 year-old boy dies after teacher beats him.

The accused teacher beat the 10 year old and threw him from the first floor of the school.

A class 4 student from a government-run school in Hadli village, in Gadag district of Karnataka, died on Monday. This was after the guest teacher allegedly beat and shoved the boy first floor balcony, according to authorities.

The schoolteacher, identified by the police as Muthappa Yellapa, 45, allegedly beat the 10-year-old child with a shovel. Then threw him from the first story of the school’s grounds. According to authorities, the incident happened on Monday at 11:30.

The accused also allegedly beat the victim’s mother, who is a teacher at the school, for attempting to stop him. Police states that she is receiving treatment at KIMS Hospital.

Police’s Statement:

“The boy is dead and his mother is also has serious injuries. Another teacher, Shivanand Patil also sustained minor injuries. He is admit in a local hospital,” superintendent of police (SP) Shivprakash Devaraju tells the media on Monday.

“It is clear how the incident occurred but we don’t know the motive behind it yet. We will get more information in a day or two,” SP Devaraju told the media.

According to police, Muthappa left the area and is currently missing, despite efforts to catch him as soon as possible. According to them, the First Information Report (FIR) under Indian Penal Code (IPC) is Section 302 (murder).

Headmaster B S Yavagal took the the mother and son to the hospital. The medical staff at Taluk Hospital sent both the casualties to KIMS Hubballi. The headmaster reported the boy passed away on the way to Hubballi.
Parents and children were terrified by the horrible crime.

This is not the first time we are hearing about such a horrible crime. In smaller districts of many states, teachers continue to abuse the students physically. Even though the law prohibits the teachers to do such thing, these crimes continue to happen. This time it is an innocent 4th class student in Karnataka who suffers and loses his life.
