PM Modi asks people to illuminate their homes with Ram Jyoti on January 22

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sent a high-level team to Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya to deal with cyber threats ahead of the inauguration of the Ram Temple in the historical town on January 22. 

The ‘Pran Pratistha‘ ceremony, the religious rituals from the Ram Temple in the holy city of Ayodhya began on Tuesday. The seven-day ceremony will reach its finale with the consecration of the idol of Lord Ram at the new temple in Ayodhya. “The ‘anushthan’ has started and will continue till January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony. Eleven priests are performing the rituals invoking all goddesses and gods,” Ram temple chief priest Satyendra Das said.

PM Modi told the nation’s people to light Ram Jyoti on January 22, which will inspire them to remove poverty from their lives. Modiji will also deliver a speech at the end of the consecration ceremony, which is expected to be attended by 8,00 guests. According to reports, only a handful of them will be allowed inside the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. On Monday, the ‘prayaschita’ and ‘karmakuti poojan’ took place and over the next week, rituals like ‘teerth poojan’, ‘jal yatra’, and ‘gandhadhivas’ will take place. 

Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai said the ‘pran pratishtha’ will begin at 12.20 pm on January 22 and is expected to end by 1 pm.
