Manish Sisodia Arrest: AAP’s protest continues the day after arrest.

Delhi's Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested late Sunday after hours of questioning regarding Delhi's Liquor policy.

The most popular arrest in the investigation so far occurred when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained Mr. Manish Sisodia. He was under arrest on late Sunday in connection with alleged irregularities in the recently scrapped liquor policy.

The CBI claimed in a statement that he was held after eight hours of questioning. It is “a case connected to suspected anomalies in framing and execution of the excise policy.”

Before heading to the CBI, Mr. Sisodia had a roadshow with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) followers. He claimed that the BJP was afraid of the AAP’s advancements and was using him as a target in a false case.

A government official published a report in July of last year. Suggesting that the Delhi government’s liquor policy benefited private liquor retailers by giving them discounts at the expense of the exchequer. Mr. Sisodia, who is credited with a significant makeover of the capital’s public education system. Also serves as the party’s second-in-command, is helping AAP’s expansion into other states as the party looks to take on PM Modi’s BJP in upcoming elections.

Security Tightens at AAP Headquarters:

Heavy police presence is present outside the AAP headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg on Monday morning. Mainly due to the protest the AAP organized after the CBI detained Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Prior to the anti-BJP protest, Delhi Police detained numerous AAP MLAs and councillors.

The CBI office was heavily policed and barricaded with three layers of security. In Rouse Avenue Court, where Sisodia would likely be produced on Monday afternoon, a sizable police presence was also present. According to the police, daytime traffic in the city’s center is likely to be impacted.

On Sunday, the CBI office protesters, who included AAP MP Sanjay Singh and minister Gopal Rai, were held by the Delhi Police.
