NDA commitment, not compulsion: Rajnath Singh

Rajnath Singh, the defence minister of India, amid pressures in ties between BJP and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu said that NDA was a commitment, not compulsion, for BJP. He added BJP has always valued its partners in every way they can.

To commemorate nine years of the Narendra Modi government, the former BJP President, Rajnath Singh was addressing a public meeting at Tambaram on Tuesday. In the meeting, he stated presume significance as there is gossip about rapprochement between BJP and its erstwhile allies.

Singh flogged MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for his ‘duplicity of character’ on the issue of the Enforcement Directorate arresting his Cabinet colleague V Senthil Balaji. Regardless, he dubbed the state police’s arrest of BJP state secretary SG Suryah last week as unconstitutional. Rajnath Singh contended Stalin was ‘killing the very spirit of democracy.’

Also, the leader enumerated various endeavors of the Modi government for welfare of Tamils in the state and neighboring country, Sri Lanka. He proclaimed that the installation of ‘Sengol’ in the new Parliament building reflected Tamil Nadu’s contribution to the nation.
