Will attend opposition meeting, but oppose Trinamool Congress: Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Lok Sabha MP, and West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president said on Sunday that the Congress will continue to fight against the Trinamool Congress in Bengal but it will participate in the meeting of opposition parties in Patna. His comments come at a time when opposition parties are meeting in Patna, convened by Bihar Chief Minister on June 12.

What did Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury say?

Chowdhury said, “The meeting in Patna has been called by a third party. Why shouldn’t we join? We will join the meeting. However, our fight against Trinamool will continue in Bengal.” He added, “In Parliament, they are sometimes part of the meetings and protests while sometimes they skip it.”

Chowdhury also said that the Trinamool Congress symbolizes torture. “Trinamool believes in official terror. Kurmi leaders are being arrested. What is the role of the police?” the Lok Sabha MP said.

“Didi visited East Midnapore’s Egra eleven days after the illegal cracker blast. She went to Egra to meet the family members of the victims as it will have an impact on her vote bank. However, she never went to meet the teachers who are sitting in Dharna, demanding their rightful jobs. She is cruel and heartless,” Chowdhury alleged.
