When finally the Patna Mega Meet was about to take place after seven long months of wait, the postponement is coming as a shock to everyone. And the reason behind it? ‘Unavailability’ of Rahul Gandhi and others. Read below to get the latest updates on Congress’s recent move and sudden change in plans.
Why The Delay From Congress’s Side?
It was already hard to bring to a conclusion regarding the proposal as Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, being Congress leaders, took so long to respond to Bihar’s chief minister Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad Yadav from Rashtriya Janata Dal and the idea of “one against one”. And now, there has been a twist. After grappling from September 2022 to March 2023, it was decided that Mega Opposition Meeting will be conducted on June 12th but this date has now been changed. Now, the campaigns and venue will have to wait as Rahul Gandhi’s US visit is likely to extend further.

Oppn Leaders’ Reaction On The Update
Since Congress is majorly ruling in seven states, nobody can really be offended by their delay with the gathering. Even Nitish Kumar, who has been working constantly on discussing everyone’s prior commitments and setting up campaigns to promote this even more has been heard to be very patient. But statements like “two-three senior congress members issue statements against parties almost every day so what message do they wanna convey exactly?” has been observed from some opponent leaders with concern.
However, nothing much can be done as of now to unite all the opposition parties against the BJP leaders as a brief discussion is a must for it in the Patna Mega Meet. Let’s see if this unites all the congress members with other team leaders and the results after the June 23rd gathering.
