Hrithik Shokeen creates history by becoming first-ever ‘Impact Player’ in Indian T20 cricket

Rising spinner Hrithik Shokeen achieved this feat on Tuesday, October 11 as he helped team in registering a convincing 71-run victory. Emerging off-spinner Hrithik Shokeen has become the first ‘Impact Player’ in the ongoing edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced this ‘Impact Player’ rule with effect from the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

As per Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) newly-introduced concept, a team gets the right to allow a tactical substitution in the middle of a particular game. They also aims to introduce the rule for IPL 2023. The 22-year-old became the first tactical substitute under new rules after he replaced opener Hiten Dalal, who scored 47(27) in Delhi’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match on Tuesday. Shokeen registered figures of 3-0-13-2 as Delhi won by 71 runs.
