IPL 2023, RR vs SRH: Abdul Samad’s last-ball six propels SRH to nail-biting win over RR.

The IPL 2023 match between Hyderabad and Rajasthan was the ideal way to finish off an exciting Sunday filled with last-over suspense.

The IPL 2023 match between Hyderabad and Rajasthan was the ideal way to finish off an exciting Sunday filled with last-over suspense. The visitors were moving forward at a respectable clip, but their chances of winning were fading with each ball.

Only a miracle, which unquestionably occurred, could have brought Hyderabad back into the contest. Glenn Phillips entered at number 6 and then proceeded to cause mayhem in front of a joyous Jaipur audience.

Sunday’s thrilling IPL 2023 encounter saw Sunrisers Hyderabad defeat Rajasthan Royals by four wickets after Abdul Samad smashed a six off the final delivery, which was re-bowled after a no-ball decision. Samad and Marco Jansen were on the crease as SRH attempted to chase down a score of 215 and needed 17 runs off the final over bowled by Sandeep Sharma.

How the IPL 2023 match of RR vs SRH became interesting:

When the drama started, Samad hit a six off the second ball, bringing the total to five runs needed off the final delivery. When Jos Buttler made a catch close to the boundary, everyone assumed Samad was out, but the umpire called for another ball, and the final delivery was re-bowled.

Samad (17 not out) then hit Sharma’s delivery for a six to reach 217 for 6, scoring one of the IPL’s most unlikely victories and shocking the RR players. SRH only needed four runs to win.

With eight wickets in hand and needing 69 runs off the final five overs, number six hitter Glenn Phillips (25 off 7 balls) also contributed to SRH’s turn around. By hitting three consecutive sixes and a four off young pacer Kuldip Yadav in the penultimate over, Phillips spiced up the difficult chase and increased the likelihood of an incredible victory.

In the end, RR spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s (4/29) valiant effort was in vain, even if it briefly appeared that RR would win easily. SRH started the run chase cautiously because their powerplay overs lacked excitement, leaving them at 52 for 1, with impact player Anmolpreet Singh becoming Chahal’s first casualty.

IPL matches drama:

All the IPL fans know by now that if a match is going on till the final over, then the result will be interesting. Many neitzens say that such matches are fixed. However, that can’t be confirmed as these are only opinions. IPL is as interesting as it was when it first started.
