Shubman Gill on playing CSK in Qualifier 1: ‘It’s going to be an exciting one’

Shubman Gill, the outstanding batsman for Gujarat Titans, issued a harsh warning to Chennai Super Kings on Sunday following an amazing display of batting skill against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday. In the Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, Gill, who struck an unbeaten 104 off only 52 balls, said that his team has a potent bowling attack capable of contending with MS Dhoni’s CSK on the Chepauk track.

When RCB reached a threatening 197 for five following Virat Kohli’s brilliant century, Gill grabbed the show with his own outstanding innings. He led GT to a surprising six-wicket victory on his alone, thereby eliminating the host club from the competition with an undefeated 104.

Statement by Shubman Gill:

“I believe our bowling attack is excellent for that pitch in Chennai. Playing in Chennai against Chennai is going to be thrilling. For the second time, hopefully, we’ll advance to the final, Gill remarked during the post-game awards ceremony.

The winner of the game stated of his century, “It’s all about gaining a start and turning it into a big one. Fortunately, it’s working out for me professionally. Applying oneself consistently is necessary. The fresh ball was barely hanging on. Due to the dew, it was becoming moist. Vijay Shankar seemed to be trying too hard, in my opinion. After gaining momentum, he hit the ball far. “The boys’ level of peace was amazing. We wished to maintain the momentum. We have completed many tasks.

The captain remarked of Gill, “He understands it’s a different Shubman Gill when he plays those cricketing shots. He doesn’t allow the other batter a chance, which inspires trust in him.We would have taken 197 in the outset, but we didn’t bowl well, he continued. Kohli had a wonderful innings, but we left too soon for the final few overs.

Dinesh Karthik’s terrible batsmanship this year seriously hurt the chances of RCB, and Du Plessis commented on it, saying, “Last year DK had a purple patch and was completing games left, right, and centre, but this season it wasn’t to be.
