In order to ensure that everyone benefits from the digital revolution, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Tuesday that technology will be crucial to India’s goal of becoming a developed country by 2047. To that aim, the government is building a contemporary digital infrastructure. AI will help India become developed according to PM Modi.
In his remarks at a post-Budget webinar titled “Unleashing the Potential: Ease of Living With Technology.” PM Modi said that technology will help to ease living for all societal segments. He added that it is already being used to bring about a qualitative change in people’s lives. The Center, he continued, has attempted to prioritize technology while maintaining a human touch in the most recent Union Budget.
Role of AI and Technology in governance:
According to PM Modi, less of the government is interfering with people’s lives as a result of technology. As a result of technology, he claimed, “people nowadays do not perceive the government as a barrier, but as a driver for new prospects.”
According to PM Modi, technology has helped to increase communication between the public and the administration. “People are using technology to communicate with the government about their problems. For instance, there were a number of problems with tax files in the past. Also, people had difficulty on many different levels. Yet, we employed technology to remove all human interaction from the process, the prime minister continued.
He added that emerging technologies like 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are under consideration and might revolutionize a number of industries. The same include agriculture, healthcare, and education. The prime minister also advised individuals to define goals, determine the industries that stand to gain from technology, and list the 10 social issues that AI can help solve.
Technology, PM Modi continued, has assisted in easing the burden of compliance for Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Businesses (MSMEs). Time truly is money in business. Hence, MSMEs can save a lot of time by minimizing compliances and use that time for conducting business. Up to 40,000 compliances no longer exist.
