The Covid-19 pandemic is a very big stone in the human existence. Millions have died and many more are suffering from its long term implications. The first case of the virus was first found in China’s Wuhan. Some people believe that the virus was first found in Bats and later in humans.
There has always been debate about if the virus is naturally occurring or man-made. The Chinese government always says that it is a natural virus and no human intervention is in existence. However, many experts disagree from the same and believe that it is an attack on other nations.
The Claim:
COVID-19, according to a scientist from the US who formerly worked at the notorious Wuhan Institute of Virology, China, was a “man-made virus”. It escaped from the lab. Covid was reportedly released from WIV, a state-funded and run research facility, two years ago. According to the New York Post. It quotes a statement made by US-based researcher Andrew Huff in the British tabloid The Sun.
In his most recent book, “The Truth About Wuhan,” epidemiologist Huff asserts that the pandemic is in existence because of the US government’s financing of coronavirus in China. Book extracts by Huff are in the UK tabloid The Sun.
Andrew Huff was the former vice president of EcoHealth Alliance. It is a non profit organization based out of New York that studies infections and diseases.
“Foreign laboratories did not have the adequate control measures in place for ensuring proper biosafety, biosecurity, and risk management. Therefore, resulting in the lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Andrew Huff, stated in his book.
Conclusion:
This is not the first time we are hearing about Covid-19 being a man made virus. However it does carry some weightage coming from a scientist who actually worked at the Wuhan Lab. It is also shocking that how easily the virus escaped because of human error. A small error can lead to such dangerous outcomes, even a pandemic.
It is important to still maintain proper sanitization. Therefore, we must be cautious to avoid risking our lives further and also keep our immunity high.
