Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar once again made a fashion statement with his extravagant style at a recent event in Mumbai. Known for his bold and unique fashion choices, Karan wore a striking ivory suit by designer Kanika Goyal, paired with standout accessories that highlighted his love for luxury and creativity.
The centerpiece of his ensemble was the Schiaparelli Telephone Dial brooch, a hammered gold and enamel design inspired by the historic collaboration between Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dalí. Priced at approximately ₹2.5 lakh (or $2,941) on Schiaparelli’s official website, the brooch became a talking point at the event.
In a further display of his avant-garde fashion sensibilities, Karan opted for Sanuj Birla’s limited-edition Birkin Drip art piece, a melting Birkin bag, replacing his usual Birkin. Previously priced at around ₹2.30 lakh ($2,716.75), the unique bag is now sold out.

This isn’t the first time Karan has captured attention with his bold choices. At the October launch of luxury brand Augustinus Bader in Mumbai, Karan turned heads with his accessories once again, wearing a beige suit paired with a Schiaparelli braided-hair tie from the Autumn-Winter 2024 collection. Valued at €2,100 (₹1.90 lakh), the accessory, made of blonde braids, became an instant conversation piece after its debut at Paris Fashion Week.
Karan Johar has long been recognized not only for his filmmaking but also as a fashion icon. His fearless approach to accessories and luxury outfits has made him a constant source of inspiration for fashion lovers. Apart from his directing success, most recently with ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ in 2023, Karan also serves as a fashion model, showcasing collections from Masaba Men and Antar Agni Men, with prices for his black kurtas ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹32,000.
