PM Modi to have a review meeting today on Covid Situation.

Amidst the rising cases and possibly introduction of a new Covid subvariant, PM Modi will have a high level review meeting on India's Covid strategy.

According to MyGov.in, India has been reporting a “steady drop” in Covid-19 instances, with an average of 129 cases and a daily positive rate of 0.01 percent as of December 22.
According to a statement from Rajesh Bhushan, secretary of the Ministry of Health, “the Covid-19 public health crisis still exists over the world with approximately 35 lakh cases recorded monthly.” PM Modi to also have a review meeting for the same.

As a result of a Covid review meeting presided over by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s remark that continual surveillance is necessary to maintain track of both existing and developing varieties, various states have increased their level of vigilance.

PM Modi to have a review meeting:

According to officials, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will examine the COVID-19 situation in the nation. This will be during a high-level meeting on Thursday afternoon.

The gathering takes place the day after Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, evaluated the situation. He tells people to act in a Covid-appropriate manner, including using masks in crowded locations and get vaccination doses.

According to official sources, random samples of international travelers travelling from China and other countries will undergo testing at airports.

Is there a need to worry?

Up to four cases of BF.7, the cause of the rise in cases in China, are currently active in India According to doctors, there is no need to worry because all of these cases were discovered in the past, and the patients have already healed.

The BF.7 is a sublineage of the Omicron BA.5 variation, not a separate variant.

According to Dr. Sanjay Rai, a senior epidemiologist at AIIMS Delhi, the terrible situation in China and the worldwide increase in Covid-19 cases are unlikely to have a significant impact on India.

Experts believe that Indians have much more immunity so there is not a lot to worry about. However, experts have told the public to start wearing masks again in public places. The government may put restrictions on public gathering on Christmas and New Years eve.

Experts are also urging people to not take direct flight from China and refrain from traveling there.
