MI vs LSG: Mumbai eliminated Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2023 Eliminator on Wednesday at Chepauk with an 81-run victory. In the difficult chase of 183, MI bowler Akash Madhwal produced amazing figures of 5 for 5 in 3.3 overs to aid the five-time champions in dismissing the Krunal Pandya-led team for 101. With 21 balls remaining, MI defeated the opposition to advance to Friday’s qualifier 2 against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. The Super Giants, on the other hand, pack their things and return to their house. MI vs LSG was one of those matches which had viewers stuck to the screens.

In contrast to their last match against MI, Lucknow struggled greatly in the Eliminator. Even though Naveen-ul-Haq bowled his best performance against Mumbai, the Lucknow bowling unit fell short of expectations since they let too many runs in the final overs.

MI vs LSG in a nutshell:

Chasing a challenging 182 runs, the LSG opening combination struggled as Prerak Mankad was dismissed by Chris Jordan in the second over and Kyle Mayers soon after. Although the LSG batting under some early strain due to a few jolts, Marcus Stoinis maintained his composure and attempted to save Lucknow from the dangerous circumstance. He severely lacked assistance from the other end, though. The pressure was put on Stonis’ shoulders as players like Krunal Pandya (8 out of 11), Ayush Badoni (1 out of 7) and Nicholas Pooran (0 out of 1) fell in short succession. The Australian all-rounder attempted to partner with Hooda, but his run-out turned the situation against Lucknow.

In what turned out to be a disappointing evening for Lucknow, there were three run-outs. This effectively broke their back, and on either side of that wicket, Madhawal got four more wickets to further his name as a tennis ball cricket player who played the game until he was 23 years old. The relay throw to knock out Krishnappa Gowtham by skipper Rohit, who has been criticized for his fitness, was a fantastic effort.

Mumbai vs Chennai final?
