On Sunday, Afghan authorities denied a Frankfurt-bound Vistara flight permission to use its airspace due to a bomb threat, leading the aircraft to return to Delhi, sources reported.
The flight UK25, operated by a Boeing 787 and carrying over 240 passengers, was initially en route from Delhi to Frankfurt. Sources informed PTI that the bomb threat was deemed “non-specific,” and the flight was expected to continue. However, the Afghan authorities prohibited the flight from traversing their airspace due to the threat.
Vistara has not yet commented on the situation. This week alone, nearly 100 flights received bomb threats that were later confirmed as hoaxes. Earlier that day, Vistara mentioned receiving security threats for six flights, including UK25.

Following the refusal from Afghanistan, the aircraft safely landed back in Delhi around 4:20 PM after departing at approximately 1:10 PM. Vistara confirmed on X that flight UK25 was returning to Delhi and would arrive around 4:20 PM.
Tracking data from Flightradar24.com indicated that the plane circled in Pakistan’s airspace and briefly entered Afghanistan before turning back. Typically, the flight path includes airspace from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and several other countries en route to Frankfurt.
