Operation Sindoor: Indian Army Declares ‘Justice is Served’ After Precision Strikes in Pakistan and PoK

NEW DELHI: In a decisive response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian armed forces on Wednesday launched ‘Operation Sindoor‘, targeting terrorist infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

“Justice is Served. Jai Hind!’ the Indian Army said in a post on X.

“A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed,” the ministry of defence said in a statement.

“Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” it added.

The Ministry of Defence stated that a detailed briefing would be held later in the day.

In an earlier post, the Army declared, “प्रहाराय सन्निहिताः, ज्यायः प्रशिक्षिताः”—”Ready” to strike, trained to win.”

The announcement coincides with the Ministry of Home Affairs unveiling plans for a nationwide civil defence mock drill scheduled for May 7.

Spanning 244 districts, the exercise is designed to bolster emergency preparedness amid heightened security concerns in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.

According to an official directive from the Directorate General of Fire Services, Civil Defence, and Home Guards, the drills will include activation of air-raid warning sirens, maintenance of bunkers and trenches, and civilian training on protective measures during hostile incidents.

This preparedness initiative follows the April 22 terror strike in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives—most of them tourists. In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pledged to relentlessly pursue those responsible, vowing they would be brought to justice “to the ends of the earth.”
