Congress candidate and wrestler Vinesh Phogat secured victory in the Julana seat during the Haryana Assembly election on Tuesday, as reported by the Election Commission.
In her first electoral contest, she defeated her BJP opponent, Yogesh Kumar, by more than 6,015 votes. Surender Lather, representing the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), finished in third place in this high-profile constituency in the Jind district.

Phogat initially led the vote count but fell behind at one point. Nevertheless, she regained and maintained her lead, ultimately achieving a decisive victory.
The elections in Haryana took place in a single phase on October 5, with an overall voter turnout of 67.90%. In Julana specifically, the voter turnout was 74.66%.
