Hardik Pandya put an end to rumors about his relationship by announcing his separation from his wife, Natasa Stankovic, on Thursday. He confirmed the news with a statement posted on his official Instagram account.
Hardik Pandya’s statement
After 4 years of being together, Natasa and I have decided to mutually part ways. We tried our best together and gave it our all, and we believe this is in the best interest for the both of us. This was a tough decision for us to make, given the joy, mutual respect and companionship we enjoyed together and as we grew a family,” Pandya wrote.
We are blessed with Agastya, who will continue to be at the centre of both our lives and we will co-parent to ensure that we give him everything that we can for his happiness.
We sincerely request your support and understanding to give us privacy during this difficult and sensitive time.
Hardik Pandya released his statement shortly after the BCCI announced Team India’s squad for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. The T20I series will be led by Suryakumar Yadav. Last month, Pandya served as vice-captain during India’s previous T20I assignment at the World Cup but was not chosen for the captaincy due to fitness concerns. Reports indicated that Pandya had been informed about this decision in advance.
This will be Yadav’s second bilateral T20I series as captain, having previously led the team in South Africa last year.
