NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Police on Thursday detained independent candidate Naresh Meena, who is accused of slapping Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Amit Chaudhary outside a polling booth during the by-elections for the Deoli-Uniara assembly seat in Tonk district.
The altercation, which occurred late Wednesday night, led to heightened tensions in the area as police moved to arrest Meena for allegedly assaulting the SDM.

A video of the incident shows Meena slapping Chaudhary outside the polling station where the SDM was overseeing election duties.
