On Friday, the Supreme Court rejected a plea regarding the February 15 stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. The petition, filed by the Anand Legal Aid Forum Trust, claimed that approximately 200 people had died in the incident, citing eyewitness accounts. However, official reports indicate around 18 confirmed fatalities.

The Court requested evidence to support these claims and suggested that affected families should seek legal action themselves. “Let the persons who are affected approach the court,” the bench remarked. The Court also questioned the validity of the petitioner’s allegations and whether the State government was entirely neglecting the matter.
