Bhagwant Mann claims working towards corruption free Punjab.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann claims that he and his party are working towards a corruption free state as AAP completes 1 year in Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday pointed out the achievements of the AAP government on its first anniversary. He further promised to accelerate the state’s progress to make it into ‘Rangla Punjab’.

He discussed how his administration was delivering on the AAP’s promises to provide 300 free electricity units per month, government jobs for young people, the opening of mohalla clinics, and other promises. “After being chosen with high hopes and aspirations, the AAP administration is already serving the state since one year. By giving the AAP a sizable mandate a year ago, Punjab made history “he stated.

The Aam Aadmi Party won 92 out of 117 seats in the Punjab Assembly election of 2022.

Here are the things that the party claims to have achieved:

The Bhagwant Mann administration’s major initiative was to provide 300 free power units to state residents. Around 90% of state citizens have therefore benefited from the subsidies. Nonetheless, the subsidy has been draining the state treasuries, with the cost of the power subsidy alone exceeding Rs 20,000 crore. The subsidy for the domestic sector is Rs. 7780 crore. The state has further spent Rs. 7294 crore on free electricity for farmers.

In his first Cabinet meeting shortly after winning the state, Mann had declared 25,000 jobs for young people in the Punjab government. In its recently approved budget by the Vidhan Sabha, the government also claims that up to 26,797 employment had been created.

the government has chosen to upgrade 117 schools to Schools of Eminence. Four schools in the district of Amritsar have already begun work on an upgrade on a pilot basis.

On the occasion of Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom day a year ago, the CM’s 24-hour anti-corruption helpline was also announced. Residents are also urged to alert authorities if they come across any officials asking for bribes. The helpline gained favorable reviews.

The state legislature’s various pensions have been eliminated in another decision by the government. A few lawmakers received pensions totaling more than Rs 3 lakh per month. The CM had said that the legislators would now receive just one pension after seizing control of the state.
