Diljit Dosanjh Delhi concert traffic alert! Check 2-day advisory, road closures updates, alternative routes here

Diljit Dosanjh, the Punjabi singer, will hold a two-day concert in the national capital to celebrate Diwali. In response, the Delhi Traffic Police has released a travel advisory for commuters, recommending they avoid restricted routes and consider alternate paths. Travelers should plan their journeys with awareness of the road closures and diversions in effect during the event.

The concert is set for the evenings of October 26 and 27 at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, starting at 7:00 PM.The post on X (formerly Twitter states), “In view of A Live Music Concert of Diljit Doshanjh “Dil Luminati” to be held on 26 & 27/10/2024 at 07:00 PM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, traffic regulations will be effective.”

It added, “Adequate traffic arrangements have been made for diversion and regulation of traffic. General public and motorists are also advised to use public transport to avoid congestion on roads.”

The 40-year-old Punjabi singer, after weeks of touring the US and Europe, is set to begin the Indian segment of his tour. He will perform in Delhi this Saturday and Sunday before heading to cities including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati.

Restrictions imposed at Diljit Dosanjh’s concert

Access Gates

Music fans can enter the stadium through Gate Nos. 2, 5, 6, 14, and 16. Gates 1 and 15 are reserved for emergencies.

Restrictions

Traffic restrictions will be enforced from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM on both concert days to manage the surrounding traffic. Additionally, Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) will not be allowed on the route from JLN Stadium Red Light along BP Marg during the restriction hours.

Vehicles with Unrestricted Access

Emergency vehicles, including police cars, ambulances, and fire brigades, will have unrestricted access but are advised to avoid the B.P. Marg and Lodhi Road routes to prevent delays.
