Ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken a jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by releasing a blank book titled BJP’s Achievements in Delhi. The book, available in both English and Hindi (‘Dilli Me Bhajpa Ki Uplabdhiyan’), mocks the BJP for what AAP claims is its failure to deliver on electoral promises.
The book was unveiled on January 20 by senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who accused the BJP of neglecting critical issues such as housing, economic reforms, and infrastructure development.
“They (BJP) won’t talk about their achievements, so we’ve released this book for them,” Singh quipped while flipping through the empty pages. He sarcastically referenced unfulfilled promises from the BJP’s 2014 campaign, including permanent housing, doubling farmers’ incomes, strengthening the rupee, and providing 2 crore jobs annually.
“The first page details how 2 crore jobs were provided each year, the second page shows ₹15 lakh in every citizen’s bank account, and the third page celebrates how farmers’ incomes have doubled,” Singh said mockingly, targeting the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.

A Heated Election Season
The Delhi Assembly elections are set for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8. AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, has dominated the Delhi assembly elections in 2015 and 2020, leaving the BJP with single-digit seats and wiping out the Congress after its 15-year rule ended in 2013.
Videos of the blank books appearing in Delhi bookstores were shared widely on social media by AAP supporters.

BJP’s Response
The BJP criticized the stunt, accusing AAP of focusing on theatrics instead of governance. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva highlighted delays in critical projects, such as the redevelopment of Rajpath, Delhi University complexes, and Metro Phase 4, blaming AAP’s withholding of funds.
“Today, expressways like Urban Extension Road-2, Dwarka Expressway, Meerut Expressway, Eastern-Western Corridor, and the Pragati Maidan tunnel have reduced travel times and pollution. These are tangible achievements under PM Modi’s visionary leadership,” Sachdeva said.
The war of words underscores the high stakes of the upcoming elections, as AAP and BJP continue their battle for control of the national capital.
