Delhi Election Results 2025: BJP’s Rekha Gupta Defeats AAP’s Bandana Kumari by 29,595 Votes in Shalimar Bagh

Delhi Election Results 2025: BJP’s Rekha Gupta emerged victorious in the Shalimar Bagh constituency, securing 68,200 votes and defeating AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes, as per the Election Commission of India. Congress’ Parveen Kumar Jain trailed in third place with a modest 4,892 votes.

The Election Commission also declared results for the Rajouri Garden constituency, where BJP’s Manjinder Singh Sirsa clinched victory, defeating AAP’s A Dhanwati Chandela by 18,190 votes. Congress’ Dhram Pal Chandela finished third with 3,198 votes.

As the vote count for the 70-member Delhi Assembly nears completion, the results indicate a decisive win for the BJP, marking its return to power in the capital after more than 26 years. The party last held office in Delhi in 1998. According to the latest EC trends, the BJP is leading in 48 seats, while AAP lags behind with 21 seats.

The official tally so far shows the BJP winning four seats and AAP securing three, while Congress is set to remain winless for the third consecutive assembly election.

Major Setback for Arvind Kejriwal after Delhi Election Results 2025

In a significant blow to AAP, BJP’s Parvesh Verma triumphed over Arvind Kejriwal in the crucial New Delhi constituency. Following his victory, Verma attributed his win to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of Delhi. Meanwhile, Delhi CM Atishi is leading in Kalkaji against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and is on track for a comfortable victory. AAP’s Amanatullah Khan, who has won the last two elections from Okhla, is now poised to claim a third consecutive victory.

With the BJP heading for a landslide win, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the party headquarters in Delhi after 6:30 PM today. He is also likely to address party leaders and workers to celebrate this significant achievement.
