Actor Saif Ali Khan was injured after a robber barged into his and wife Kareena Kapoor’s residence at Bandra (west) and allegedly stabbed him. The incident occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday when the actor was sleeping in his house along with his other family members.
According to the police, the robber fled the scene when the house’s occupants woke up. Efforts are underway to trace him, and the Bandra police are in the process of registering an FIR. Multiple police teams have been formed to apprehend the culprit.
A senior IPS officer confirmed the incident and said, “Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to the Lilavati hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. It is not clear yet, if he is stabbed or injured in the scuffle with the robber. We have been investigating the matter. The Mumbai crime branch is also conducting a parallel investigation into the incident.”

Details of his injuries
Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said, “Saif was attacked by an unidentified person in his house. He was brought in at 3:30 am in Lilavati. He has six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him. He is being operated upon by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. We will be tell the extent of the damage only after the surgery is done.”
Dr. Uttamani stated that Saif Ali Khan also sustained an injury on his neck, which is currently under evaluation. He mentioned that the surgery began at 5:30 am and is still ongoing. A doctor at Lilavati Hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity, told HT that a piece of the knife was found in Saif’s body, and the extent of the damage is still being assessed. However, the actor can move his limbs, indicating that his spine is unharmed.
Hospital sources revealed that one of the injuries was deep and required 10 stitches, though it did not impact his spine. “He was fortunate that the stabs did not affect any vital organs. The injuries suggest he was fending off a robbery attempt, with two wounds being deep, two moderate, and two superficial.”
The actor’s family is by his side at the hospital. Saif and Kareena, married since 2012, reside in the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra West, Mumbai, along with their two sons, Taimur (8) and Jeh (4).
